Shelsbys Gather in July for Golf

It's been a crazy busy summer here in New York but I finally put together a slide show from our July family outing. Big thanks go to Ted and Cathy for coordinating the golf outing and hosting the awards ceremony cookout. It was such fun that a repeat event has been scheduled for next July. Mark your calendars now for the weekend of July 21-22, 2007. Details to follow.

Breaking News From Minnesota

I just got an e-mail from Brian asking me to share the news that he is expecting a new edition to the Shelsby clan. They think it will be a boy and will name him Lukas Braeden but they are still discussing girl names, just in case. "Addison Elissa" or "Elissa Addison" are being considered. I've asked Brian for details such as when the baby is due, so stay tuned to the Shelsby Family Website for details.

Greetings from Africa

Last weekend I flew up to Mfuwe to spend a few days with friends and a client. We had lunch at Gillies house and my friend Peter took this photo. Gillie and her husband have a very spacious home at the edge of a National Park. The photo is taken from her living room. The dining table is in the foreground, we are seated behind it and just behind that is an open field. As we were talking elephants were strolling by. There are no fences around the park so the animals are free to roam. It was a picture perfect day. Lunch was fantastic. Afterward we went for a swim and then had drinks while we watched the sun go down. It was almost a perfect day. It would have been perfect if Jen and Aaron had been there too. They are alreay back in the states. I will be joining them in two weeks.

Greetings from Africa,

see you soon.

2006 Egg Spinning Champ Named

Posted by Picasa 2006 Shelsby Easter Celebration was held this year at Rick & Karen’s in Ellicott City. It was a beautiful day and we had a good turnout. To see photos of all the day’s events, go to: http://www.photoshow.net/mshelsby/favorites

Competition was fierce at the annual egg-spinning contest, perhaps because there was a lapse of three years since the last contest. Of course, the intensity may have been a result of Rick posting odds for all the competitors and allowing betting.

Unique to this year’s event was three Gils making it to the finals. The youngest of the Gils used a little hot air (guess he, too, will be an attorney!) to try to keep his egg spinning but it didn’t work. Big Gil, also known as Gil Sr., took top prize this year with middle Gil finishing second!
